Free, public-invited, Crime Prevention meeting-discussion with Delaware State Police on Monday, Sep. 21, at 7 pm in the Lincoln Community Center. It’s in the Sussex County Emergency Medical Services building & Kids First Academy at 18883 Washington St. One block from Lincoln’s midtown town traffic light, in front of the Evelyn Morris Early Childhood Center (the public school), the Greater Lincoln Civic Association meeting is at the intersection of Washington and 2nd Streets. State Senator Gary Simpson and Representatives Harvey Kenton and Dave Wilson are also participating. Please join us for problem solving, to save your family, friends and neighbors from becoming targets for crimes.
Plus Senator Gary Simpson on Monday morning, 9/21, will be in the DFAC (Delaware Finance and Accounting Committee) Meeting, the first meeting focusing on the DE Budget, discussing the money shortage. Representatives Harvey Kenton and Dave Wilson are on the Joint Finance and Bond Bill Committees, the top two, state legislature finance committees. So meeting participants will learn the latest, Delaware finance figures and tax talk.
The Delaware Business Roundtable recently released its 27-page report, concluding that the state's annual operating budget faces … unsustainable expenditure growth [Think “Tax and Spend, to buy votes.] and the need for more robust economic growth.
This respected report predicts a Delaware state budget shortfall of over $600 million within 10 years, unless spending is curtailed and the business climate improves.
From Route 1, a mile south of Milford bypass, DelDOT’s sign: “Johnson Rd., Lincoln.” Turn west toward Lincoln and Rt. 113. On Johnson Rd drive to middle of Lincoln, traffic light, at Marshall St. and Third St. intersection. Turn left on Third St. for one block. In front of the public school (Evelyn Morris Early Childhood Center), turn right on Washington St. for one block. Lincoln Community Center is at 2nd St. intersection.
From Rt. 113 Lincoln’s traffic-light go east toward Rt. 1 on Johnson Rd. Cross railroad tracks, immediately turn right in front of the Post Office. Turn left on Washington St. for one block for the meeting at 2nd St. intersection. Do NOT Block Ambulance Driveway.
